Participants will also get a chance to try songs from other cultures such as Africa. You do not need previous training to take part, just bring your interest for music and together we will do the rest!

- Where: Music room BISL
- Cost: 30 Euro/month
The choir is led by Marina Mortensson who was born in southern Sweden and has had a big interest in music since early childhood. Her first instrument was violin but soon she started to play any instrument she could get her hands on. At the age of seven she started to take singing lessons and her real focus on singing began. Her biggest inspirations were, and still are, jazz singers such as Ella Fitzgerald and Peggy Lee, and the jazz scene was the place her career soon took off. Marina has been performing onstage since she was around 14 years old and has recently been travelling around Europe with her music. She has released two albums in Sweden and Japan. After years of music education and as an freelance artist Marina took another look at the music business and took an examination in Music and Event Management and worked for two years “backstage” and with songwriters and copyright. Marina is half Slovene and half Swedish, with a mother born in Izola. That is why she took the opportunity to move to the beautiful town of Izola in September 2013 to learn Slovene and focus on writing new music and developing new musical experiences in Slovenia. She is very happy to be teaching at BIMS.
